Personal Life

Chief Pete Edochie was born in March 1947 in Enugu State, Nigeria. He is married to Josephine Edochie with children namely Linc Edochie and Yul Edochie. Yul Edochie also ventured into acting.


He is one of the oldest Nigerian actor, and he is considered one of Africa’s most talented actors. He has been honored with several awards, some of which includes Industry Merit Award by Africa Magic and Lifetime Achievement by Africa Film Academy.

He started his journey in the entertainment industry as a junior programme assistant at the Nigerian Television Authority, then he rose to the position of Director of Programmes and then Deputy Managing Director. Pete Edochie featured in Things Fall Apart and was award an international recognition. He had featured in thousands of Nigerian movies as well which includes Genevieve Nnaji’s Lionheart. In 2005, the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria banned Pete Edochie, Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade Ekehinde and a number of others from filming for a year because they charged more than expected from producers.

Pete Edochie is popularly known for his mind blowing proverbs such as,

” No African girl will choose six packs over six cars. So my sons stop the gym and work hard.”

” The death of a lion cannot be announced by a goat.”

“Beware of the naked man who offers you clothes.”

When you really get into the mindset of older Nigerians, you’d understand why we are where we are.

The older generation has nothing progressive to offer us and they show it every day.

Pete Edochie didn’t make any sense here, his mindset on this subject is just horrible.

Another proof that Nigerians can’t differentiate Nollywood from Reality.
Everyone automatically respects Pete Edochie’s opinion because they have deceived themselves into thinking he’s filled with wisdom because he spews cliché proverbs in nollywood movies. Tragic
