Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) seeks review of worship time to 90 minutes

Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN)has seek for request on extending church services for more than an hour in various worship centers as already laid down by the government.

The CAN’s association secretary Joseph Daramola stated this during a meeting with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), in Abuja on Thursday that one hour will be short for church services and it should be extend to 90 minutes

The FCT Minister Malam Muhammad Bello released guidelines on reopening of places of worship in Abuja.He urged Christians to strictly adhere to the guidelines, and ensure safety at all time.

In respect to the statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Anthony Ogunleye, the minister said all worship centers must sign up to full compliance with all aspects of non- pharmaceutical interventions needed to protect and prevent the public from COVID-19.

In the statement worship centres were compulsory to ensure  the supply of soap/alcohol sanitisers and running water at entry and exit points.

All churches and mosques are charged with the responsibility to implement social distancing and all forms of physical contacts should be avoided

It also reads in part of the statement that  “Churches and mosques within the FCT must reduce the capacity of their facilities to allow for physical distancing of at least two meters between persons.’’ in various church centers.
