House of Representatives,demanded from the Accountant-General of the federation, AGF,Details of all the funds donated by the Federal Government to the states of the federation, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, and some ministries dealing with Covid-19 pandemic was requested by the House of Representatives from the Accountant-General of the Federation,Ahmed Idris.
The AGF was questioned by the committee on the total amount released so far by the Federal Government to the states, the NCDC, the Ministry of Health and other agencies of government in the fighting against the disease.
The AGF however said, Special account is opened with CBN, through which money is borrowed to meet the need in case of emergency
He also told the lawmaker that there was a total donation of N139.439billion received by the Federal Government from the donations by the 109 Senators and 360 members of the House, adding that another N300 million came from a philanthropist from Kano State.
The Committee Chairman and members however,is not yet satisfied they insisted on details about the funds donated on June 15,Which is the next gathering about this issue.
