Your body shape determines the kind of outfit you wear and your style.

Body Shapes

Not everyone understands their body shape, reason some people look odd on a particular outfit and great on another.

Before choosing a style or an outfit, think about your body shape.

Let’s look at the basic 4 body shapes.

We have some others but these are the most common of them all.

Pear Body Shape
This is also known as a triangle shape.

Pear or Triangle Body Shape

You may be this body type if…

• Your waist is wider than your bust
• You consider yourself to have fuller hips
• You have narrower shoulders in comparison to your hips
• You have a fuller rear

Hourglass Body Shape

This is also known as a curvy shape.

You may be this body type if…

• You’d describe your body as curvy.


• You have a well-defined waist.


• Your bust and hip measurements are roughly even.• You may have fuller bust, hips, and thighs

Apple Body Shape

This is also known as an inverted triangle.

You may be this body type if…

• You are generally well-proportioned

• Your shoulders are broader than your hips

• You are not necessarily as curvy through your hips

• You don’t have a well-defined waistline (If you do, you’re likely an hourglass!)

Rectangle or Straight Shape.


This is also known as Athletic body shape

Rectangle Body Shape

You may be this body type if…

• You’re not particularly curvy

• Your shoulders and hip measurements are nearly the same

• Your waist isn’t very small or well-defined, but rather straight up and down

• Your weight is fairly evenly distributed throughout your body

Now, can you figure out your body shape?

If your shape don’t fall in any of these categories.
Not too worry, all you need do is figure out your kind of shape, you can get a stylist who will guide you on this.

In summary, know what works for your body shape before picking that outfit or style you’ve been eyeing.

Don’t be caught wearing what doesn’t suit your body shape.
