
During Saturday’s presidential election in Nasarawa State, Peter Obi of the Labour Party garnered the highest votes with 191,361, followed by Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress with 172,922 votes, and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party with 147,093 votes. The results were officially collated and announced on Monday in Lafia by Professor Ishaya Tanko, the state’s collation officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Tanko, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, Plateau State, reported that the NNPP presidential candidate received 12,715 votes. The Collation Officer stated that the registered voters in the state numbered 2,552,716, with a total of 540,566 valid votes cast. Additionally, the accredited voters in the state were 562,464 with 556,937 votes cast and 16,371 rejected votes.
