Bye-election: PDP wins Kaduna Assembly seat

Posted on June 20, 2021June 20, 2021 By Ken No Comments on Bye-election: PDP wins Kaduna Assembly seat

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Alhaji Usman Baba of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the victor of the bye-political race for Sabon Gari Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly.

The Returning Officer, Dr Mohammed-Nuruddin Musa, who proclaimed the outcome on Saturday in Zaria, said Baba won the political race with 9,113 votes.

He crushed his nearest competitor, Malam Musa of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who got 7, 404 votes.

The returning official additionally said that Malam Anas Abdullahi of the ADC had 62 votes; Chindo Ibrahim of ADP, 61 votes while Musa Halilu of PRP got 305 votes.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the bye-political decision followed the announcement of the seat as empty by the state House Assembly in April.

This was because of the disappointment of the administrator addressing the voting public, Aminu Shagali to take part in authoritative exercises for over 360 days.
