The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brig.Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim, says corps individuals are essential for the public safeguard strategy of Nigeria and can be activated for war if need be.
Ibrahim said this on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ program on Wednesday while responding to moves to scrap the NYSC conspire which is mandatory for all Nigerians who graduate before the age of 30.
The NYSC manager said, “Corps individuals are on save. They are important for the public protection strategy of this country. Thus, where there is not kidding war, our corps individuals are taught, they are proficient and they can be prepared. You see the drill, etc.

The NYSC manager expressed that he had exhorted corps individuals not to go external the state or the country without the authorization of the state organizer.
