Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has named Major-General Farouk Yahaya as the new head of armed force staff.
Yahaya, a significant general, will supplant the expired Attahiru Ibrahim with quick impact.
Preceding his arrangement, Majo-General Yahaya was the General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army and the theater authority of a tactical counter-psychological warfare unit in the North East.
Yahaya’s arrangement comes six days after his archetype Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru and ten other military work force passed on in an air crash while on an authority excursion to Kaduna State.
Buhari selected Attahiru in January 2021 as a component of a purge in the country’s security engineering.
Grieving Attahiru, Buhari said the accident “was one human hit to our underside, at a time our armed powers are ready to end the security challenges confronting the country.”
Attahiru, Acting Chief of Military Intelligence, Brigadier General Abdulkadir Kuliya; Chief of Staff to the late COAS, Brigadier General Mohammed Idris Abdulkadir; Brigadier General Olatunji Lukman Olayinka, Aide-De-Camp to the COAS, Major Lawal Aliyu Hayat, and Major Nura Hamza have been covered last Saturday.
Others were the pilot of the doomed airplane, Flight Lieutenant Taiwo Olufemi Asaniyi, Flight Lieutenant Alfred Ayodeji Olufade, Sergeant Opeyemi Isaiah Adesina, Sergeant Umar Saidu and Aircraftman (ACM) Olamide Matthew Oyedepo.
