An arising report claims President Muhammadu Buhari is now making arrangements to supplant the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, as quickly as time permits.

A source who would not like to be named disclosed to Daily Trust that the Nigerian president is thinking about a senior official from the southeast to address the supposed lopsidedness in the organization of his security group.

However, the source noticed that disturbance and assaults on security specialists and arrangements in the southeast may block the odds of the COAS rising up out of the zone.

In any case, a senior official at Defense Headquarters told the paper that country is as yet grieving late Attahiru.

He said it was too soon to discuss COAS substitution right now.

In the mean time, President Buhari has proclaimed Monday, May 24, a without work day for individuals from the Nigerian Armed Forces to pay tribute to Lt. Gen. Attahiru, and 10 other people who kicked the bucket in an air crash on Friday, May 21.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, said this in an assertion on Sunday, May 23, Daily Trust announced.

In another news, the previous COAS Lt Gen Rtd, Tukur Buratai has said Nigeria would have in the end improved as a spot if the late Chief of Army, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, had lived long to satisfy his arrangements for the country.

.As indicated by Buratai, the late Attahiru was very nearly making Nigeria glad before his passing, Channels TV announced.

He expressed that the late COAS was resolved to prevail in the different military activities the nation over, Guardian added.
