On Friday, the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, expressed his support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.
During an interview with BBC Pidgin, Governor Wike of Rivers State clarified that merely noting that Obi is presidential material does not constitute an endorsement of Obi’s presidential ambition. Naija News learnt that Governor Wike made this statement on Friday in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Governor Wike of Rivers State was interviewed by BBC on Friday and shared a message with Nigerians who are eagerly awaiting the announcement of his preferred presidential candidate for the 2023 election. Previously, the governor and a number of other aggrieved PDP governors had announced that they would make their announcement in January of 2023.
The BBC interviewer asked Governor Wike about his plans for the 2023 election, in light of his previous promise to make an announcement.
