Grammy grant winning Nigerian vocalist, Ayo Balogun, otherwise called Wizkid, stunned his fans on Monday as he changed his Instagram name from Wizkid to Big Wiz.
Without a proper declaration, the artiste has indicated on how he would prefer to be tended to by fans.
Devotees of the 30-year-old vocalist had in the past proposed that the artist eliminate the postfix ‘- kid’ from his name, in view of his age and accomplishments in the Nigerian music industry over the previous decade.
In any case, his Twitter page, as of the hour of this report, had still held the name “Wizkid”, in spite of being dynamic.
In the mean time, the artist isn’t the primary Nigerian performer to change names, either officially or casually.
For example, Legendary artist, Tuface, changed his name to 2baba; famous rap artiste, Sauce Kid, changed his name to Sinzu; and Kiss Daniel changed to Kizz Daniel.
Wizkid began recording music at 11 years old. He marked his first significant arrangement with Banky W and Captain Demuren’s Empire Mates Entertainment record name in 2009 and rose to unmistakable quality after his single ‘Holla at Your Boy’.
Since the time the arrival of his presentation collection, Star Boy, which is likewise one of his aliases, has been taking off high.
As of late, he caught his first-historically speaking Grammy acknowledgment for his job in ‘Earthy colored Skin Girl’ — a melody by Beyonce.
